Through the efforts of the Salita Foundation, a structured restoration initiative began in 2025.
This project led to the identification and verification of three foundational Kanaani cats in Israel:
Haifa, Arbus, and Laila.
Expert evaluation confirmed their alignment with the historical Kanaani phenotype described in early documentation.
These foundational cats have since been registered with:
• ARBC — Association of Rare Breeds of Cats
• Pedigree Club UK
• Feline Alliance of Ukraine
• WCF (revival documentation)
Communication with TICA regarding breed evaluation and review is conducted through the Salita Foundation as part of the restoration process
